The Garden Committee is an informal group of volunteers that maintain our beautiful grounds around the church. We don't have formal meetings, but rather we weed, water, and plant as needed. Come join us! Speak to the minister and they will point us out if you're interested in helping out.
Flowerbeds and Labyrinth
We have flowerbeds at the front and side of the church. The beds at the side are perrenials, but in the front we often have a mix. If you have an extra plant or two from home, you're welcome to find a home for it in the beds.
Watering is done by the Beavers and Cubs from 1st Battle River Scouts in May and June, but we would welcome additional help over the summer months.
Please feel free to pull a weed whenever you see one!
We also have a Labyrinth and Meditative Garden at the front of the church available for the enjoyment of all.
Community Garden
We have two apple trees and a saskatoon berry bush in the front of the church. At the side, we have six garden boxes and black current bushes. We grow produce annually to support Neighbour Aid and the Pantry at FCSS. Sometimes food is donated directly, and at other times the produce is sold by donation to the congregation, and the money is given to Neighbour Aid and FCSS.
